Rev Massey's Mid Week Epistole. The Rest of the Apple Story

APPLE CORES THE REST OF THE STORY
Remember last week, the story of the man and the ten apples he received from God? He ate three, traded three for shelter and three for clothing, and instead of returning the tenth to God, he ate it and gave God the core?
Well, the rest of the story goes this way.
God accepted the apple core and planted it in a garden. All through the year, God poured blessings of rain, snow, fresh air, and sunshine on all people, the just and the unjust, including the man and the garden where God had planted the apple core.
Again God met with the man who, even though he had eaten a fourth apple, was hungry again. His shelter needed a roof; his clothing was worn. God took him to the garden. There stood an apple tree with many apples. The man remembered what he had done and fell to his knees to ask forgiveness. As he prayed, God reached out, picked ten apples, and handed them to the man; some for food, some to exchange for shelter and clothing, and some with which to express gratitude to God.
God then picked the remaining apples, put them in bags with ten apples to a bag, and entrusted a bag to each of many other persons.
If God can do that with the leftovers, the core of the apple that we give Him, can you imagine what He can do with our whole life? What a delightful thought!

Holy God, what a wondrous opportunity you see in our world. Give us eyes and dreams to plan ahead to make room for the hungry of this world and multiply our gifts and let us spread a banquet of Your love. In Your name we pray. Amen.

Join me next week and find out how to make a description that will amaze you.
Grace and Peace
Rev. Jim Massey
